Ross on Wye Town Plan Progress Group

About this Website

This website is owned and maintained by the Progress Group of the Ross-on-Wye Town Plan (RoWToP), Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.

The Ross-on-Wye Town Plan was adopted by Ross Town Council on June 14th 2010 and the Progress Group has become the facilitator and monitor of Plan's Progress. Sub-groups and other bodies have assumed responsibility for the specific projects and topics raised in the Plan.

The Progress Group is a group of people interested in the development of Ross-on-Wye and who are prepared to give up some of their time to work with others and push forwards many of the needs of the town of Ross-on-Wye. We are not paid nor elected and apolitical, and we have very limited funds. Our composition is of local residents, members of other local organisations and a smattering of our Town and County councillors.

Our role is to spend our time considering options with the sole aim of pushing through the implementation of the Ross-on-Wye Town Plan either by working out solutions ourselves, or more often, by working with other local groups to achieve our common goals. Having decided on a course of action or solution to a problem, this is then presented to our elected Town Council who, being elected have the final democratic say on your behalf.

We work with other organisations such as The Association of Ross Traders (ART), EnviroAbility, Ross Sports and Leisure Federation (RSLF), Halo and Amey to achieve implementation of sections of this plan and recognise that they can do some, most, or all of the work. We are aware that the achievements on this website may look like the work of the Progress Group when in fact it may be others who have done the majority of the work; we aim for this not to happen, but this website has the need to report all progress. if you feel that we have failed to praise the work that you or your organisation has done, please let us know.

Please fee free to comment on the work of this group or this website, we always value your feedback.
