Ross on Wye Town Plan Progress Group

2. Affordable Housing.

To address the demand for more affordable/social housing provision in Ross-on-Wye.

The majority of respondents (58%) said that they were in favour of council owned properties to rent and a minority (18%) that they were opposed.

Approximately the same number each (36%) were in favour of/opposed to a small development in their part of town. Written comments suggested that in some cases this opposition was due to the area already being fully developed.

The most popular types of accommodation to be provided were low-cost starter homes and mid-range family homes.

Herefordshire Council has identified areas for development in its SHLAA (Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment) "Shaping our Place 2026" document.
