3. Infrastructure to Support New Development

To ensure that any future development is supported with adequate service provision for example surface water drainage/flood alleviation, sewerage facilities, water provision and road capacity.

Developing information in the Local Development Framework (LDF) exercise. Information concerning proposed development was not available during the consultation period and there is a need for further investigation in view of current proposals.

The LDF is a 20-year planning framework that covers all requirements up to 2026 of a local area.

Issue

Explore existing capacity to ensure it is adequate to support further development.  Work with Herefordshire Council (H.C.) and Ross Town Council (R.T.C.) to explore the implications of “Shaping Our Place 2026,” and other options.

Responsibility

Herefordshire Council, Welsh Water Authority, Ross Town Council and utility and service providers.

Priority

High. Medium term.

 Progress To Date:

July 2011

Latest information is that between 2006 and July 2011, Ross has 900 new letter boxes, the LDF plan suggests only 100 more letter boxes are required in the next 15 years. This highlights a hole in the LDF which requires attention.

Nov 2010

Local Development Framework suggests 1000 additional letter boxes for Ross are planned in the period 2006 - 2026.
