Ross on Wye Town Plan Progress Group

12. Cycle Tracks

To provide more routes and better facilities for cyclists.
To encourage an increase in bicycle use as a sustainable/low carbon means of transport.

Better provision for cyclists is needed in the town, including more cycle paths and tracks. When asked if there was a need for more cycle tracks 34% said YES and 20% said they would like more bike lock rails.

As part of Ross's efforts to encourage visitors, simple improvements to facilities for cyclists would make the town more attractive to them.

It is also important for the Town Plan to consider sustainable transport links in Herefordshire and encourage the development of these facilities.

Aug 2011

As with Issue 11 (walking routes), which relates to pedestrians, there is a need for more and better facilities for cyclists, such as an extension of the cycle path network.

This could possibly link in to the Herefordshire cycle path network (as illustrated in the Herefordshire Leisure Cycle Guide) and the Wye Valley cycle routes

Nov 2010

RTC to investigate establishing a cycle path network
