To provide Ross-on-Wye with a cinema.
 

Strongly supported across all consultation exercises - Planning for Real (PfR), Focus Groups and Questionnaire.

Over 90% said that they would attend new releases and 34% said they would attend monthly.

 
Issue

To provide Ross-on-Wye with a cinema.

Action

Ross Sports and Leisure Federation (RSLF) to commission a feasibility study to examine the possibility of opening a cinema in Ross.  This is the single most widely supported issue in the consultation and there was support amongst all age groups.

A second cinema screen is being installed in the Y Zone (owned and run by the Herefordshire Council).

Flicks in the Sticks screenings continue in a separate county-wide programme in St. Mary's Church Hall.

Town Council agree to spend £7,500 to fund the installation of new projector, sound equipment and screen at The Phoenix Theatre following proof of demand.

The Ross Sports and Leisure Federation has been looking into improving the sports and leisure facilities in the town. It has been making progress on providing a cinema with the establishment of a cinema facility based at The Phoenix Theatre. In order to attract funding for a cinema proof of demand is required and should it be successful, will provide this proof to potential funders.
