29. Dog Fouling of Paths and Open Spaces

To reduce the amount of dog fouling in public places in Ross-on-Wye.

A lot of people raised dog fouling as an issue they wanted to see tackled during the various consultation exercises. In questionnaire responses 34% wanted a campaign of dog owner responsibility launched, 63% wanted the number of "poop disposal" boxes increased and 26% favoured the set up of enforcement patrols. Fewer than 3% were willing to pay more for Ross Town council to implement the work.

Ross Town Council to investigate best practice (we could ask for a student project to investigate what other parishes are doing and whether it works) and liaise with Herefordshire Council and AMEY. Identify problem areas from Planning for Real data.
